baby geniuses podcast and a page

this is my output for tonight.  i didn't go wild with the tiger's advancement to the world series.  instead, i slow cooked beans for my girlfriend's chili that we are entering in a non sanctioned cook- off this weekend.  i eat beans everyday for the fiber.  so i know what i like.  i really made a good pot tonight!!! country rib broth simmer with some lemon verbena and thyme.  also, i've been listening to a new podcast by some girls in new york that are illustrators and cartoonists called "baby geniuses"  it's very entertaining.  the link will be below.   the one i listened to tonight was about a lot of things, but mostly about the weird tingle some people get and certain moments that can trigger them.  they actually name the condition which is ASMR.  i have this, so it was great to know that i'm not the only one.  http://babygeniusespodcast.tumblr.com/post/33239905131/subscribe-on-itunes

~OLD SKETCHBOOK PAGE~

i spent the day and night building a new drawing table so here's an old one that i still reference.
i've never noticed before that if that bird girl on the left is really about to eat an oyster and not just suck the juice, it would be way too big and probably knock her over.  maybe i was thinking that she was chewing it like one of those cuttle fish bones that hang in cages for them?

~TONIGHT'S DRAWING~

i thought i would be painting all night and didn't expect to pull a workable line drawing suitable for transfer.  so i started this sketch on newsprint for the reason of it being disposable.  my hands became so sweaty during the ninth inning of the tigers game that i almost had to ditch it.  after they won putting them with a 3-0 lead in ALCS,  i fanned it dry and stretched it with blue tape.  in the morning i'll use tracing paper to draw/ place the little guy i'm calling at the moment "wee freedom."  in the finished painting it will be about the length of the pencil pictured above.

i spent last night drawing skunks with charcoal filtered underwear,  i thought i would have that much fun again tonight.  nope!  i was linear.

~HAND ROLLED TRAY~

this was a detail study for my painting "wat's up twubble?"  i'm pretty sure this tray was painted full detail at around the size of a quarter.
